What liberal media? - The usually-uncontroversial US Magazine unveils a hatchet job on Sarah Palin. (Check out the comments underneath.) Here's why they did it: "US Weekly is owned by Jann Wenner of Rolling Stone, whose Obama boosterism is almost monomaniacal."

Waaaaahhhh!!! Why can't the press keep writing about fishing and snowmobiles, forever? THAT'S journalism, instead of a hatchet job! Fair reporting should always start with a honeymoon period! (Preferably 2 months.) Waaaahhh!!! I hate the media! What about the mooseburgers? Mooseburgers! Mooseburgers!

Speaking of the media, Giuliani really laid the smack down on media bias in this must-see interview with Tom Brokaw

In response to Brokaw's assertion that Obama was already "vetted" by having campaigned for 20 months.

"[Obama] has been running a long time, but when has he run anything?"

Dan Balz, Washington Post:
"Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin was not subjected to a lengthy in-person background interview with the head of Sen. John McCain's vice presidential vetting team until last Wednesday in Arizona, the day before McCain asked her to be his running mate, and she did not disclose the fact that her 17-year-old daughter was pregnant until that meeting, two knowledgeable McCain officials acknowledged Tuesday... Campaign officials declined Tuesday to respond to questions about whether she had returned the questionnaire to the vetting team before she arrived in Arizona, saying they would not provide details of the timing of the process."

Elizabeth Bumiller, NY Times:
"A Republican with ties to the campaign said the team assigned to vet Ms. Palin in Alaska had not arrived there until Thursday, a day before Mr. McCain stunned the political world with his vice-presidential choice. The campaign was still calling Republican operatives as late as Sunday night asking them to go to Alaska to deal with the unexpected candidacy of Ms. Palin... At the least, Republicans close to the campaign said it was increasingly apparent that Ms. Palin had been selected as Mr. McCain’s running mate with more haste than McCain advisers initially described... He had his first face-to-face interview with her on Thursday and offered her the job moments later... “They didn’t seriously consider her until four or five days from the time she was picked, before she was asked, maybe the Thursday or Friday before,” said a Republican close to the campaign. “This was really kind of rushed at the end, because John didn’t get what he wanted. He wanted to do Joe or Ridge.”... Although The Washington Post quoted advisers to Mr. McCain on Sunday as saying Ms. Palin had been subjected to an F.B.I. background check, an F.B.I. official said Monday the bureau did not vet potential candidates and had not known of her selection until it was made public... In Alaska, several state leaders and local officials said they knew of no efforts by the McCain campaign to find out more information about Ms. Palin before the announcement of her selection."

Peter Wallsten, LA Times:
"One Republican strategist with close ties to the campaign described the candidate's closest supporters as "keeping their fingers crossed" in hopes that additional information does not force McCain to revisit the decision. According to this Republican, who would discuss internal campaign strategizing only on condition of anonymity, the McCain team used little more than a Google Internet search as part of a rushed effort to review Palin's potential pitfalls. Just over a week ago, Palin was not on McCain's short list of potential running mates, the Republican said."

Gosh golly jeepers, it sure is tough luck when your opponents do your job for you.

Well, I guess that's that, 'anonymous'. Your UNNAMED sources and lack of links is sure convincing.

2fb it's not even close to the truth.

Bumiller, after all, has already had to admit that he MADE UP the claim that Palin belonged to the 'Alaska Independence Party'.

In any case, Palin was vetted more than once. As Bill Kristol said, "The McCain campaign vetted Sarah Palin to the satisfaction of John McCain. He nominated her as his running mate. She is the governor of Alaska. She was vetted by the voters of Alaska"

.. but you can hang on to your lies and smears ...

after all, it's ALL YOU HAVE.

You gotta wonder if Jann Wenner and co. would be as brutal if one of Obama's daughters was pregnant out of wedlock. No doubt cries of "Candidates children are off limits!" would resound from the left.

My God, the trolls are all over the place since Palin was nominated. Show me how nervous the liberals are.

Right as always, Bri.

Here are the liberal trolls Peggy Noonan and Mike Murphy, captured speaking today with live mics. Listen as they betray their partisan leftwing nervousness towards the greatest VP pick any of us have ever seen:

Hmmm. McCain's campaign manager Rick Davis' talked to the Washington Post about tonight's Sarah Palin speech. I wonder what Davis' quotes will do to DJ Drummond's and Bill Kristol's faith in the competent thoroughness of the vetting process?

Not anticipating that McCain would choose a woman as his running mate, the speech that was prepared in advance was "very masculine," according to campaign manager Rick Davis, and "we had to start from scratch."
