"You want a piece of me, Kamala?!"

Twitchy: "Five senior campaign officials assure us Joe Biden is ‘ready to throw down’ at second debate."  And stay off my lawn!

Exclusive video of Biden and Harris throwing down gloves.  Must credit Viking Pundit!

Nevertheless, she persisted to obfuscate

Hot Air: "Taking A Cue From Obama, Elizabeth Warren’s Single-Payer Strategy Involves Not Telling Voters The Truth."

Unable to tell the truth during the debate, she said "I'll say it again" and regurgitated the same script in the post-debate interview.  I've seen this Chubby Checker twist whenever she's asked about her "Native American heritage."

Yo, she's not a person of color and she doesn't belong to a tribe and she can't go back!

What happens when you cut off that sweet Mueller morphine drip

Fox News: "MSNBC's 'The Rachel Maddow Show' plummets to fifth most-watched cable news show."  I actually watched the evening after Mueller testified and Maddow was slathering lipstick on that pig with a wide trowel.

Disclaimer: I did not watch the debate

Twitchy: "Democratic candidates agree: Obamacare is horrible didn’t fix anything."  But I can laugh about it anyway, right?  Meh, I'll see the highlights.

These people are nuts

Daily Caller: "California Gov. Signs A Bill Requiring Presidential Candidates To Submit Tax Returns."  This is almost certainly unconstitutional since that document spells out exactly what requirements are needed to be President and states can't add on whatever they want.  Ironically, this was the argument former California governor Jerry Brown - Jerry Brown! - made when he vetoed the same law two years ago.

If history is any guide, this move will boomerang spectacularly on the Democrats

This tweet aged well

Stereotyping dead ahead!

Andrew Yang on Fox News Sunday this morning: "I'm Asian, so you know I like to work."

LOL, what?

What biased media?

Twitchy: "Journo April Ryan has Rep. Cummings’ back by saying the WH might be worse (then blames TRUMP for not fixing Baltimore’s problems!)"

Because, as we know, all the problems in Baltimore started on January 20th, 2017.

"Nobody wants to be a beggar for life"

Just finished watching a documentary called "Poverty, Inc." which could be called "the road to ruin is paved with good intentions."  I really didn't know much about this movie when I put it in my Netflix queue but it's a libertarian's dream.  In heartbreaking detail, it shows how "compassion" puts poor countries into a dependency trap.  After all, why buy a pair of shoes from your local cobbler when Tom's is handing them out for free?

The dead horse whippings will continue

Some Democrats have an article in the Atlantic: "Why We’re Moving Forward With Impeachment."

I really don't know what more can be said about this futile effort.  They keep pretending there's some bombshell just about to be uncovered, something missed by several Congressional investigations, the Mueller investigation, and the combined power of the mainstream media.  And - always - there's the puffery that they're the Great Protectors of the Constitution.

Time for some heavy duty counter-punching.

Russians!

Red State: "Leftwing Journo Makes Bizarre Claim That Mueller Testified That The Kremlin Was Blackmailing Trump."

Joe Biden has amnesia

The Hill: "Biden: 'I'm not going to be as polite' at next debate."
“If they want to argue about the past, I can do that,” Biden said at the fundraiser. “I got a past I’m proud of. They got a past that’s not quite so good.”
Joe's proud of his past except for his 1994 crime bill, his anti-busing stance, Obamacare, his support for the Hyde Amendment, and his vote for the Iraq war.

The Mueller train wreck

Federalist: "Robert Mueller’s Testimony Has Been A Complete Disaster For Democrats."
Under the Constitution, congressional Democrats are free to impeach the president for any reasons they like—and voters are free to judge the president’s actions and vote for someone else. But the Mueller investigation was unable, despite its best efforts, to indict a single person for conspiracy connected to Trump 2016 campaign, much less the president himself. Mueller admitted under oath that his investigation into that matter was unhindered.

Democrats seem unable to come to terms with these inconvenient facts. And Mueller’s presence didn’t help their cause.
In his original report, Mueller said there was no collusion and today he specifically said that his investigation was not hindered in any way, which pulls the rug out of the obstruction charge.  But you'd never know that from the Democrats on the news shows tonight: it's full steam ahead with impeachment.  I expect that new poll numbers after this nothingburger today will bring them back to Nancy Pelosi's fold.

Chuck Todd is the worst

Columbia Journalism Review: "After former special counsel Robert Mueller testified before the House Judiciary Committee this morning, Chuck Todd managed to demonstrate, with uncharacteristic brevity, his basic misunderstanding of the requirements of his job."

I can't stand Todd because his "Meet the Press" interviews with Republicans are interrupted constantly while for Democrats he just stares in reverent silence.

That's the ballgame

Amtrak Joe on the gravy train

National Review: "Joe Biden Gets Paid — a Lot — for Speeches, and He’s Not Middle-Class." "Biden’s continued insistence that he’s “Middle Class Joe” while raking in $15 million over two years is not quite as insufferable as Hillary Clinton’s claim that the Clintons were “dead broke” when they left the White House. But it’s getting there."

Plus, Joe knows how to avoid taxes on his phat speech fees.

Extra - Twitchy: "Move over, Elizabeth Warren: Joe Biden knows how to make a buck at a university."

Yeah, we know

Hot Air: "WaPo, Politico: You Know Mueller-Mas Will Be A Bust (Again), Right?"  Keep whipping that dead horse, boys.

Taxing the guy behind the tree

Don't think I've heard of "damselling"

Ace: "Oh, My: Capital Police Strongly Imply That, Despite the Squad's Claims That They Are the Subjects of Intolerable Death Threats, They're Not Receiving More Threats Than Many Others."  ""Damselling" is internet slang for being a constant attention whore and drama cyclone and always claiming you're under attack, usually to gain sympathy, White Knights, and even money (especially through Patreon donations) and jobs (from leftwing media looking for leftwing "victims" of the right)."

There's an old joke that half the articles in Cosmopolitan are "You're great the way you are" and the other half are "Lose 10 pounds now!"  Modern feminism is full of crybullies who are both strong and powerful but also need constant protection from the meanies.  (See: every AOC tweet.)

"Trump's going to get re-elected, isn't he?"

Powerline: "Scenes from the Democratic Panic Room."  "Liberals no longer believe in entrepreneurship and “growing the economy” (in Bill Clinton’s clunky phrase). It’s the Bernie-Lizzie Party now: the system is rigged! Only redistribution and punitive taxation on the prosperous will satisfy the sanctified envy and blood lust of the ascendent left. The Democratic Party is back to loving workers but hating employers. A winning formula I’m sure."

I thought it was a BFD, Joe

Reason Online: "Joe Biden's New Health Care Plan Is an Admission that Obamacare Doesn't Work."  "Biden is pitching an expensive overhaul of Obamacare on the promise that it would do what Obamacare was supposed to have already done. Which means that for all the feisty back-and-forth about health care policy, nearly all of the Democrats running for president appear to agree on at least one thing: Obamacare isn't working."

We're from the government and we're here to help

Imgur album: "The crux of politics is unintended consequences, and the road to hell is paved with good intentions."

Fauxcahontas on the warpath

This video of Elizabeth Warren grandstanding for the cameras is cringe-worthy.  Twitchy: "Elizabeth Warren has a temper tantrum after trying to shame Defense Secretary nominee Mark Esper."

If I remember correctly, Warren has voted "no" on every Trump nominee except for Nikki Haley.  She has no interest in "advise and consent" - she's just there to campaign and pander.

Healing Crystals Lady pulls ahead!

C'mon, man, this is great.  Legal Insurrection: "New Hampshire Poll Has Williamson Polling Ahead of Booker, Gillibrand, and O’Rourke."

Bernie is losing ground in the state where he trounced Hillary and grabbed everyone's attention in 2016.  But his screaming at the camera act is so stale now.  He was on "Meet the Press" yesterday and I could have predicted every response.

Ever wonder why CNN's ratings are in the dumpster?

Twitchy: "Sure, President Obama deported more people than Trump, but CNN looks at the ‘context’."

Orange Man Bad.  Obama good.  We get it, we get it.

The identity politics monster turns on the Dems

Washington Free Beacon: "Pelosi's House of Pain."
She's something, Ocasio-Cortez. At 29 years old, she perfectly embodies her generation's uniquely irritating combo of self-righteousness and cluelessness. Passionate and charming at first blush, her appeal quickly wears off. In a March Quinnipiac poll her favorability was underwater by 13 points.

What Ocasio-Cortez understands is that, in the culture of social media celebrity, the worst possible thing to do is back down. So, when Pelosi stated the obvious to Maureen Dowd—that for all the attention The Squad receives from the media it is, in the end, four votes—Ocasio-Cortez insinuated the speaker is a racist. And they say liberals oppose nuclear war.
Pass the popcorn.  AOC rose to prominence by yelling from a lectern but I don't believe she could withstand substantive debate with either a primary or general election challenger.  She's just not that bright.

Vice deporter in chief

Joe Biden on immigration policy: "To compare him to what this guy is doing is absolutely, I find close to immoral."

Yeah!  Nobody deports illegals like Joe and his buddy Barack!
Joe Biden has had a two-word retort to recent questions about his record on civil rights and race: Barack Obama.

But when it comes to Latinos and immigration, Biden is learning that the Obama defense doesn’t do the trick: The former Democratic administration’s mass deportations of 3 million people provoked fear and fury in the community at the time, and the bad taste has lingered even with Donald Trump in the White House.
In fact, the Obama-Biden team deported illegals at twice the rate of Trump today.  Joe is right: there's no comparison.

Update - Politico tonight: "Protesters rail against Biden on deportations."  Check this out: "I will not apologize for deportation if the person committed a felony,” Biden told the protesters."  That is such weak tea, Sleepy Joe.

Mercifully, her fifteen minutes of fame are almost up

Extra - Reason Online: "The U.S. Soccer 'Pay Gap' Is About More Than Just Sexism - The U.S. women's soccer team deserves better, but mandating equal pay isn't the answer."

A strong female character in a "Terminator" movie?

Say it ain't so!  Breitbart: "'Variety' fabricates hoaxtroversy about 'Dark Fate''s lady Terminator."

This is the worst thing since that black Little Mermaid danced at Boston University.

That's an unexpected twist

Did not see this coming.  Politico: "Appeals court skeptical Obamacare can survive."

Chief Justice John Roberts famously set up this conflict in Obamacare by ruling the individual mandate could only be administered through the tax power of Congress.  Could he now find some other convoluted reason to save SCOTUScare?  The answer might come in the middle of the 2020 election season.

You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you

Federalist: "Yes, There Is A Soccer Pay Gap: The Women Make More Than The Men Do - Last year, the men's World Cup generated $6 billion, and gave about 7 percent to the teams. The 2019 Women's World Cup made $131 million, and gave out more than 20 percent to the teams."

Acquire a thick skin

Powerline: "What a conservative learns in college."

I was a conservative student at Rutgers, and publicly so, because I wrote regular articles in several college newspapers.  I really can't attest to the current college climate except from articles like this but it seems like things have gotten markedly worse.  Back then I regularly attended parties with member of the campus left and generally we agreed to disagree.  Now the animosity and acrimony is at a whole other level.

Wut?

Grabien: "Biden: Russia Election Interference Wouldn’t Have Happened ‘on My Watch and Barack’s Watch’."
BIDEN: “Look at what’s happening with Putin. While Putin is trying to undo our elections, he is undoing elections in Europe. Look at what’s happening in Hungary, look what’s happening in Poland, look what’s happening. You think that would happen on my watch or Barack’s watch? You can’t answer that, but I promise it wouldn’t have, and it didn’t.
There's something wrong with this guy.

And then there's this.  CNBC: "Biden vows to bring back Obamacare’s individual mandate penalty for not having insurance."  Dude is self-destructing wayyy too early.  We needed this to happen around March.

Heroes of Twitter - assemble!

I have not been this angry since I saw that video of AOC dancing.  Twitchy: "Alleged racist backlash against black Little Mermaid is only the latest example of ‘fake outrage bait’."

They so want to believe it's true.  So they do!

That's better

The Hill: "Economy adds 224K jobs in June, exceeding expectations."

Give that man a cigar!

This dude totally called it, two weeks ago:
President Donald Trump’s pollster on Thursday put in writing his prediction that Sen. Elizabeth Warren would soon lead the Democratic primary field, estimating that her rise, coinciding with former Vice President Joe Biden's fall, would be cemented by October.

GOP strategist Ward Baker on Thursday commented on a video of Biden refusing to apologize for comments touting his past ability to work with segregationist senators to get things done in the chamber. "By October he will be #3 in polls," he tweeted. "Just give it time."
Didn't take much time: "Yikes: Two New Polls Show Biden Sliding To … Third Place."

Bye, Joe.

Happy Birthday

I was mesmerized by this video:

Trump loses the census fight

Legal Insurrection: "Census going to print without Citizenship Question."
But the timing was tough because printing the Census is a monumental undertaking. The government had argued, in urging the Supreme Court to expedite the case, that the printing could not wait much beyond the end of the Supreme Court term in June.

The theoretical what-if not longer is what-if. Or so it seems.
Disclosure: in high school, I had a job running a printing press.  So I'm absolutely astonished that a piece of paper that isn't due for at least six months can't be pushed off for some time.  I ran off thousands of multi-page catalogs in one afternoon.  Thanks, Justice Roberts, for another dilatory non-decision.
