What's up with American Chopper?

The past two weeks have been very annoying with the wide-angle camera shots and the new "Operations" guy Keith. Why are they messing around with a successful formula? Anybody?

Can't say I've really noticed the change in the camera angles, but for the rest: The chopper shop, originally started by Paul Sr. as a hobby, has turned into big business.

Paul Sr. has had to hire many additional people to build bikes (we keep seeing new fabricators); has had to expand the shop signifigantly; and now has had to add a 'straw boss' to keep production up when he's busy with other things - especially the many public appearances he must personally attend.

Note that we've also been seeing a LOT less of Paul Jr.

It's possible they are getting tired of the show - or of the time commitment necessary to keep the show good. Thus far, however, the show is still interesting, and Keith is coming across as a "Paul Sr" -lite...

It's also interesting to see the new directions they are going in for the custom bikes.

On one show, I noted that Paul Jr. said: "OCC is sending us down to Daytona." "OCC"? I thought you WERE OCC, Paul.

The Vinnie & Mike bike show was awful and there were several times when the camera just happened to be set up for a shot, as if it was staged and not spontaneous, which is what made the show entertaining.

Just my 2 cents.

The main thing I noted with the recent shows is that they looked like they were done with a film camera rather than video, like the rest of the series. Another thing we see is that while Mikey is good for the occasional comic relief, he can't carry the show.
