Different drum - This article in the Boston Globe is written by an advisor to Mike Gravel, but it also makes some sense: "Why Democrats should love the FairTax."

Unfortunately, the author of the article doesn't know much of anything about the FairTax. The FairTax, is NOT a 30% sales tax! It is an embedded tax of 23% that replaces the 22% embedded taxes that we currently pay. The embedded taxes are the payroll and other taxes that are paid at each step of the process of making anything - bread, cars, widgets, or a jet plane. I highly recommend reading the books: The FairTax Book; and FairTax: The Truth: Answering the Critics. Both are by Neal Boortz and Congressman Linder:
