New Jersey Assembly caves – Sales tax rate to rise from 6% to 7%. Good luck with that.

Remember the last time New Jersey did that? There were bumper stickers all over the state, "Florio-Free in 93." Florio lost, and the sales tax was back to 6%.

I lived in N.J. for years until I moved out west to evacuate. I cannot believe my parents can still afford to live there.

There will be no property tax relief. You can take that to the bank.

Brian, wow, I lived in New Jersey all my life (until I moved to MA) and I remember the Florio backlash.

New Jersey has some of the highest property rates in the country and now has one of the the highest sales tax rates. Somehow this believes it will help the economy.
