What, no Sinatra?

The last song I downloaded from I-Tunes was The Lucky One, by Eliza Gylkinson...

Just a note: Video Killed the Radio Star was by Buggles. Another note: it was the very first video ever played on MTV.

This week I downloaded off iTunes:

- Black Rob - Whoa
- Pat Benatar - Invincible
- Pete Rock and CL Smooth - They Reminisce over You
- UTFO - Fairy Tale Lover
- EPMD - Strictly Business
- Shana - I ant You
- Killers - Somebody Told Me
- T.P.E. - Then Came You

Glad to see you d'led the original All Cried Our. None of the remakes have ever come close to the power of Lisa Lisa's voice in that song.

One more thing: This week's sowntime hopefully showed you that you have a readership that likes you. As you know, I have been here for a few years now, and plan to go nowhere. I don't care for the long-winded blogs that analyze everything. I like your style and varied topics, and can't tell you how many valuable things I picked up from here.

I'd also strongly recommend some of the classic 70's rock from British pop groups such as T.Rex, The Sweet, Mudd, Gary Glitter(forget about his current personal baggage) and Alvin Stardust to download as well.

The Stranglers were one of punk's greatest groups ever, sort of like a punk version of The Doors, and top flight musicians worthy of a good listen.

John Anderson was one country music's greatest voices and sometimes a hard country rocker, check out SWINGIN, MONEY IN THE BANK, and the most guitar searing version of IT's ALL OVER NOW, definately a major improvement on even The Rolling Stones version.

Hugh Montenegro could certainly fill the entire sound field with some of his massive orchestrations.

There's some really great jazz such as The Crusaders or Grover Washington.

Of the newer groups, Nickelback and Alice In Chains, and sometimes NIN prove some ability worthy of a good listen.

And some classic rock such as Canned Heat, Ten Years After, Hendrix, The Doors and more are really worth a listen as well.

These are just a few recommendations of artists worthy of some consideration.
