I can’t tell you how much cringe-worthy statements like this fill me with a cold dread that Kerry has a remote chance of getting close to the White House:
Kerry said Thursday that if he were elected and not enough progress had been made on the [9/11 commission] recommendations, he would convene an "emergency security summit" to bring together congressional leaders of both parties and heads of the intelligence agencies. "Mark my words," he said after a campaign appearance in Detroit, "if I am elected president and there still has not been sufficient progress rapidly in these next months on these issues, then I will lead."He will “lead” by calling a meeting. No doubt the French will be invited.
