Here’s the concluding paragraph from Robert Samuelson’s article in today’s Washington Post “The Good, the Bad and the Complicated”
All government spending must be paid for by either taxes or borrowing (deficits). So unless spending is controlled, we will get much higher taxes, much higher deficits -- or both. Either may impose a burden on the economy. Because this is an unpopular message, no one is discussing it. And that, folks, is politics.Sounds familiar.
