A trial would be public and the CIA's utter incompetence would be displayed in glory. Without much result, unless they can get an obscure conviction. The perjury thing is my guess, the old standby for prosecutions that go nowhere.

Ohhh, Carlos, don't dismiss a good halfassed perjury charge. The conservative history rewrite of the 1990s relies upon it.
