Opposition to the wind farm among the residents of Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard, who would normally support green energy, was based on the nebulous "aesthetic impact" of the turbines. If we can't accept some sacrifice for energy (like the usual fossil-fuel burning) then there's no real clean energy debate to be had.
