Perhaps the real reason for the hiatus is that Eric had a falling out with GOP HQ so they're not sending him the talking points anymore.
Some say it was rumored that after a couple of Daiquiris at a First Street cocktail party he let it slip that he's lived in Massachusetts for over a decade because he kind of likes the excellent health care, good school systems and being around well-read, educated people like himself.
