"Not to get too deep about it, but 9/11 seemed to create a great level of nostalgia and cocooning, and had a deep effect on the American psyche," said Eric Levin, executive vice president of Techno Source.... The company's gadgets plug into a TV and are preloaded with 10 games, including console classics such as "Pitfall" and "Kaboom!" from Activision Inc. (ATVI).

Keenly observed, Mr. Levin. I know that whenever I want to take my mind off 9/11, I instinctively reach for the Kaboom! game.

I still play Missile Command, Centipede, Dig Dug, and Donkey Kong Jr. when I take my nephew to Chuck E. Cheese. I love those games, and always will. Now, if I could only find Track & Field (with teh trackball, of course, and not the buttons, Karate Champ, and Moon Patrol, I'd be in heaven.
