The Chuck Todd effect

Gallup: "Media Confidence Ratings at Record Lows."
Americans' confidence in two facets of the news media -- newspapers and television news -- has fallen to all-time low points. Just 16% of U.S. adults now say they have "a great deal" or "quite a lot" of confidence in newspapers and 11% in television news. Both readings are down five percentage points since last year.

Gallup has tracked Americans' confidence in newspapers since 1973 and television news since 1993 as part of its annual polling about major U.S. institutions. The latest readings are from a June 1-20 poll that saw declines in confidence ratings for 11 of the 16 institutions measured and no improvements for any.
If history is any guide, this will lead to zero introspection by the mainstream media.

But isn't your confidence in polling at a record low?

As long as we're feeling good again about believing polls:

"Between mid-May and mid-June, support for the Jan. 6 investigation increased by 8 points, to 63%, driven mostly by independents."

Extra fun! - Radar: "‘Meet The Press’ Anchor Under Siege At NBC After Ratings Slumps To Worst Since He Took Over In 2014."

You really re-added this?

July 10, 2022 A25-54 (000)/Rtg
ABC “THIS WEEK” 469,000/0.4
NBC “MEET THE PRESS” 405,000/0.3
CBS “FACE THE NATION” 376,000/0.3
CBS “FACE THE NATION-2” 244,000/0.2
FOX “FOX NEWS SUNDAY” 198,000/0.2

("Face the Nation" breaks its show into halves to try to make its first 30 minutes look better to advertisers.)

If Chuck Todd is on the brink of being fired, "Face the Nation" host Margaret Brennan is about to be deported. And whoever's hosting "Fox News Sunday" is going to be drawn and quartered.

Also, break it gently to RadarOnline.com that despite what they claim in their unsigned article, they don't possess "top-secret ratings data." Is RadarOnline unaware of what's online?

It undercuts their media insider assessment of what the head of NBC News "must be" thinking.
