This reminds me of this unintentionally hilarious article in the NY Times about eco-socialites: they're all for saving the planet until the slightest bit of sacrifice is involved:

She plans to practice conservation, to a point. Energy-saving light bulbs are fine — for the utility closet, perhaps. In other rooms, “they don’t give a very pretty light,” she said.

How gauche!
