Let the Red Cross in

Here’s more from the Iraqi U.N. ambassador on “Meet the Press”:

MR. RUSSERT: Will you allow the Red Cross to visit the American and British prisoners of war?
AMB. AL-DOURI: I think this is the elementary rules of international humanitarian law. Certainly, we’ll permit. If they are—if they had not did yet, I think certainly it is—there is a possibility. I am sure that they will do that.

And here’s Newsday today:

The international Red Cross yesterday began visiting prisoners of war held by coalition forces in Iraq but has yet to receive word that it can see American POWs taken by the Iraqi military.
