Wokesters don't like to be called woke

Federalist: "‘Woke’ Effectively Describes The Left’s Insanity, And That’s Why They Hate When You Say It." - "Woke-ism is intentionally ambiguous. So when you describe it, that offends those who wish for its intentions to remain murky."

Hence the bend towards censorship.

Must every accusation leveled by a Republican always be a deflection, and a confession?

Numerous Republicans have been unable to accurately define "woke" when asked to do so. Some have crashed and burned.

Bethany Mandel is a conservative blogger.

This week, during a TV interview, the host tried to entrap Mandel with this outrageous gotcha question:

"What does that mean to you? C-could, would you mind defining 'woke,' because it's come up a couple of times, and I want to make sure we're on the same page."

Here is Mandel's answer, verbatim. All ellipses are entirely Mandel's.

"So... I mean... woke is... ww... sort of the idea that... ummm... (swallows)... (ah)... this i... this is going to be one of those moments that goes viral, I mean, woke is something that's very hard to define and we spend an entire chapter defining it. ... It is sort of the understanding that we need to re to, totally reimagine and re, ah, re-in... reduce society in order to create hierarchies of oppression, um....(longer pause).... sorry, I, it, it's hard to explain in a 15-second sound byte."

(1) The above is a sound byte that took 40 seconds to say. Bethany had time to give two 15-second sound bytes and a 10-second dry mouth swallow.

(2) She was only on the show to promote her new book that takes a "deep dive" into "the Left"s "current woke indoctrination."

So murky, so ambiguous!
