Derek Chauvin guilty on all counts

I've been kinda following this case through the comments of Andrew McCarthy at National Review and the legal experts at Legal Insurrection.  The general perspective was that the defense was lackluster but, from a legal perspective, the second-degree murder charge was way over the top.

In the end, the video of George Floyd begging for his life was always going to override these legal sensibilities.

Extra - National Review: "The cops had the right and responsibility to use some force to restrain and subdue Floyd, and maybe his death was due in part to other factors besides force. But the extended time involved in this case always made it likely that any reasonable jury would convict Chauvin of some crime bearing responsibility for the death of a man who did not deserve to die."
