This is why conservatives don’t tend to express the same emotional hostility as the Left; a deeper grasp of the world’s complexity has the effect of encouraging intellectual humility. The conservative hears the progressive’s latest demands and says, “I can see how you might come to that conclusion, but I think you’ve overlooked the following…” In contrast, the progressive hears the conservative and thinks, “I have no idea why you would believe that. You’re probably a racist.”I've mentioned this before but the local PBS station had a "dialogue" on race that was anything but. The white audience members absolutely refused to offer a comment or question since they knew there was 100% probability of being called a racist. Why bother?

These kinds of think pieces should be served in a pig trough. Makes it easier for the intended readers to slop up their delicious self-validation.
Liberals crap out the same stupid-ass essays on "Why we're logical and serious, but they invariably resort to insults and willful ignorance."
Someone should do an article about why the other side's articles about the way we are are always so bad, while our articles about the way they are are wise, even-handed and true.
I've come to hate the Sunday morning news shows where one position is voiced followed by another rote recitation of talking points.
Did I imagine a time when people with differing viewpoints would hash it out on camera? There's no dialogue anymore.

It's been 15 years since "you're with us, or you're with the terrorists" and "Americans need to watch what they say."
It's been 40 years since "add up the killed and wounded in Democrat wars."
It's been 55 years since "spend our sunset years telling our children's children what it was like in America when men were free.”
It's been 65 years since "twenty years of treason."
And that's just from one side; you could make a similar list of Democratic shutdown slurs.
