Chicagoland-style

It's hard to look at this video of the shooting of Laquan McDonald and conclude it was not an execution.  The guy was on the ground and shots keep coming - 16 shots.  I'm tempted to say that the only reason this indictment came out at all, a year later, is because the dashcam video was released and it was revealed that the police wiped the video from a nearby Burger King.

Eric - you forgot to mention that, if the video had been released or an indictment handed down 9 or 10 months ago (instead of being held up for over a year) , Mayor Rahm Emmanuel would not have won the runoff election this past April, because he would have lost most of the black voters in Chicago. Makes you think, huh?

I'm always on board with a good corrupt conspiracy, or with conspiratorial corruption... but after Emmanuel got elected in April, why did the video continue to be held in May, June, July, August, September, October, and half of November until a judge said "Release it"?

Chicago has paid billions in settlements, has a black ops site that has held thousands of suspects for indeterminate periods without charge, suppressed for a decade a photograph of two policemen holding rifles and posing on top of a black detainee who was forced to lie on the floor and wear antlers, and until last Wednesday hadn't indicted a police officer in 35 years. Was that because of Rahm's runoff election, too? This, all of it, IS the system.
