That's where the money is

Michael Barone: "Obama’s Taxed Himself into a Corner - Absent serious entitlement reform, Democrats will have no choice but to raise taxes on the middle class."

Now that Obamacare has joined the list of entitlements, there's no level of taxation on "the other guys" that can satisfy the outlays.  You wanted it, America, and now you're going to get it good and hard.

The Congressional Budget Office (CBO) now projects that federal health spending — including the costs of health reform’s coverage expansions — will be about $600 billion less over 2011-2020 than CBO projected in January 2010 without health reform

Both links point out that the outlay is still rising, but observe that "the simple fact is that the federal government is spending less on health care with Obamacare than it expected to spend without Obamacare."

"And here's what you need to know. First, I will not sign a plan that adds one dime to our deficits -- either now or in the future. (Applause.) I will not sign it if it adds one dime to the deficit, now or in the future, period. And to prove that I'm serious, there will be a provision in this plan that requires us to come forward with more spending cuts if the savings we promised don't materialize. (Applause.) Now, part of the reason I faced a trillion-dollar deficit when I walked in the door of the White House is because too many initiatives over the last decade were not paid for -- from the Iraq war to tax breaks for the wealthy. (Applause.) I will not make that same mistake with health care."

The lies...the endless lies.
