I'm a little distracted tonight - The transmission in my wife's 1995 Plymouth Voyager is on life-support, making unsettling noises at every shift. There's really no choice other than to look into a new car since it's questionable to dump $3K into a car worth $500 (according to the
Blue Book.) Still, it's a big, sudden expense and that's no fun.

You had a 12-year-old Plymouth Voyager that still ran? That's remarkable.
Did you have a reputable tranny shop look at it? Sometimes it is something simple like a sticky valve in the valvebody.
If it is going out, break out the jackstands and throw a used tranny in it. It's not that hard, just time consuming and greasy.
