I'm pretty sure some of those totally destroyed homes and businesses in N'Awlins were/are owned by non-poor people. In fact, in a metro area of some 1.5-2.0 million, I'm willing to go out on a limb and guess that there might even be or two of those dreaded rich. Maybe not as rich as Pinch Sulzberger (or Pants or whatever the weasel's nickname is), but rich as, say, Paul Krugman. Now, if there was any justice in the world at all, Krugman's Enron money would have been invested in uninsured N'Awlins real estate.
