From Media Notes in today's Washington Post:
You may recall that Democratic Chairman Terry McAuliffe blasted Fox awhile back when a Fox station in Wisconsin refused to run an anti-Bush ad. Fox czar Rupert Murdoch was "furious," one source says, and Rupert put out this statement:Heh.
"The truth is that the FOX affiliate in Madison is not owned by Fox Television Stations; it is owned by Sinclair Communications. Neither Fox Television Stations nor the FOX broadcast network had anything to do with the ad's rejection.
"Either Mr. McAuliffe does not understand the basic relationship between networks and their affiliates or he made a deliberately misleading and inflammatory statement. In either case, Mr. McAuliffe should immediately retract his incorrect accusations against Fox."
