SCOTUS vote - This sounds like an extremely intelligent prediction from Ed Whelan on Bench Memos about Samuel Alito’s nomination to the Supreme Court: “Alito’s nomination will be approved by the Judiciary Committee by a 10-8 party-line vote…Alito’s nomination will be confirmed by the full Senate, with 55-65 votes in support.” For the record, I predicted 10-8 and 57-43 several months ago.
