I'm going to go back to my previous contention that Kimmel's lack of contrition will be his downfall. The decent thing to do would be to admit his mistake and move on.
Won't happen. He's emboldened due to the reinstatement, and according to reports he was refusing to even make a finger's crossed apology. Either he think's his coated with teflon and says something even dumber and gets tossed again, or he's going to go away by natural causes. He'll get a few nights of pumped up ratings, and then he'll go back to his AM radio like audience, further hurt by the couple hundred stations not airing the show and the advertising dollars will dry up. He won't accept the 90% pay cut at contract time, and ABC will be off the hook.

They plugged in sponge bob for the slot and ratings have tripled.
