Well, I was wrong about his return but I don't see how he can come back without a public apology. IIRC this was one of the demands from the Sinclair Media group to regain its affiliates.
Update - The Wrap: "Sinclair Will Not Air ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ Upon ABC Return Tuesday - The broadcaster, which has demanded an apology and Turning Point USA donation from the late-night host, will replace the time slot with local news programming."
So far, Nexstar is "no comment." Hmmm.

What advertiser's are going to stick around? Some college football stadiums hold more people than watch Kimmel, is that enough viewers to make it worth your business? Maybe Kim Jong Un and Maduro will buy space to run tourism ads.
That's the thing: the affiliates are (likely) responding to the advertisers.
