Lawfare in our banana republic

Legal Insurrection:"E. Jean Carroll $83.3 Million in Defamation Case."

This is insanity: IIRC, there is no evidence that Trump and Carroll ever met.  This crazy verdict is bootstrapped off the original crazy verdict which would have been thrown out of any court outside of New York City.

But then I guess this is the new "Kavanaugh standard": if you're a Republican, you need to (somehow) prove the allegations against you didn't happen.

The funniest detail of the first Trump/Carroll case was when Trump stated under oath that he absolutely would never have raped Carroll because she's just not his type.
And then Trump misidentified a photograph of E. Jean Carroll as being a photo of his wife.

The least funny detail of the second Trump/Carroll case was when the judge dismissed the jurors, telling them "My advice to you is that you never disclose that you were on this jury."

And everybody knows why.

Yesterday was a great, great day for President Trump.

Trump previously told his rally goers “I'm going to open up those libel laws so when they write purposely negative and horrible and false articles, we can sue them and win lots of money.”

Promises made, promises kept. MAGA!
