The final update – Scott Elliott has tallied up the numbers over at
Election Projection. His strict accounting predicts +25 in the House and +5 in the Senate but his
disclaimer reads: “
So here is The Blogging Caesar's official position on these mid-term elections. I predict the GOP will lose a net 11 seats in the House and a net 3 seats in the Senate. At most, I say the GOP loses 18 seats in the House and 4 in the Senate. That's where I stand."

I expect the Dems to win 18-23 House seats and 4-5 Senate seats, but I must say that this is the strangest mid-term election I've seen in 50 years of watching them.
I wouldn't be surprised if Repub GOTV narrowly saved their House majority, but I'd be totally amazed if the Dems win as many as 35 seats and pretty darned surprised if they win 30.
