Mugabe is a champion of the little guy. He took back the farms from the white interlopers and gave it to the real Africans who are rightfully entitled to them.

At least that's what my liberal law school classmates tell me.

Brian, the collapse of agriculture in Zimbabwe affects all of sub-Saharan Africa. It's a crying shame.

No, Brian makes an excellent, excellent point. This tragedy is all about upper-class liberals.

Last night, my garbage cans were knocked over and the bags were chewed open. Some might suspect raccoons, but I think we know which tax-raising, obstructionist cutters and runners were truly to blame.

I have two academic colleagues who are still striving mightily to defend Mugabe, but you can sense it's becoming more difficult, and their eyes don't look happy as they do it.

Of course, one of them is still willing to defend Stalin.
