The Simpsons are being broadcast on an Arabic satellite channel with some “minor” changes:

Homer doesn’t drink beer
Ned Flanders isn’t religious (just annoying)
Smithers is “just” a lackey

Sounds like a winner: "They managed to make one of the funniest shows ever into something that is terribly unfunny, and one of the smartest shows around into something incredibly dumb," ranted an Egyptian blogger who goes by the name Sandmonkey and who wants the show canceled. "Us Simpson lovers can't take this abomination any longer." D’oh!
