Maybe it’s time to join the Libertarians – George Will vents on a stupid and unnecessary Senate bill to create an entitlement for (wait for it) digital television. Meanwhile, as the Republicans secure “the inalienable right to a remote”, Michael Tanner from the CATO Institute laments: “Yet this week, Senate Democrats used a parliamentary maneuver to prevent the Senate from scheduling just 10 hours of debate early next year on Social Security reform.” By pushing reform off another year, Washington has piled on another $660 billion in unfunded entitlement spending. But we have vouchers for digital TV! Hooray!
