Day 2 of the Eastern seaboard trip

Massachusetts, New York, Pennsylvaia, Virginia. I'm in the Keystone State today, just relaxing and watching James Bond movies on Spike. I hope everybody had a great holiday. My big gift was a creme brulee kit based on a throwaway comment I once made about liking creme brulee. I think this indicates how desperate everybody is to find presents for Christmas. Me, I gave out 20 packs of double-A batteries and gift cards.

since you brought the subject up, I thought I'd throw in a comment about AA batteries. I've been going through a ton of them since buying MP3 players, digital cameras and my much-loved GPS. My GPS in particular will chew up a pair of double A's in under an hour, and I've had to carry extra batteries during many geocaching excursions. So I did a little research on rechargeables, and found that they are definitely worth the investment.

Do a search for nimh batteries.. the good ones are the new 2400mAh or 2500mAh cells. A set of those (usually an 8 pack), along with a charger that won't overheat them will set you back about $50... but you won't be buying batteries for a long time (they're rated for 1000 recharges with little or no reduction in effectiveness), and they last twice as long (or longer) as the 'old school' variety.

Of all the hobbies I could ahve picked growing up, why did I pick surfing the web. I mean, I find lots of cool blogs, like yours, but I just never know where it leads. Looking for digital camera shop can lead you to a jam making site. You never know. Good stuff!
