What we've come to expect from the media

National Review: "The New York Times Anti-Kavanaugh Bombshell Is Actually a Dud."
The book isn’t released until Tuesday, but Mollie Hemingway got a copy, and she writes on Twitter: “The book notes, quietly, that the woman Max Stier named as having been supposedly victimized by Kavanaugh and friends denies any memory of the alleged event.” Omitting this fact from the New York Times story is one of the worst cases of journalistic malpractice in recent memory.
And yet, it's all so familiar.  The "Democracy dies in darkness" crowd isn't even trying to cover up their advocacy anymore.

Extra - Mollie Hemingway's twitter reaction: "I'm actually kind of enjoying how bad this is."

Ben Rhodes:
"Turns out a weekend FBI investigation that talked to almost no one wasn’t the best way to vet someone getting a lifetime appointment to the most powerful court in the world."

It actually turns out the FBI did a fine job of vetting.

The political activism, uncorroborated allegations, and left-wing hysteria all came later, during the hearings, and as we saw, bore no relation to the truth.

Someone's forgetting Chuck Grassley's and the FBI's perfunctory "Weekend at Blasey's" farce. Or maybe they just blinked and missed it.
We haven't seen an investigation so thorough since O.J. was on the hunt for the real killer.

I call for impeachment proceedings to begin.

Apparently, insulting the FBI is back in vogue.

The GOP majority on the Judiciary Committee --- see Senator Grassley's name up there? --- gave the FBI no more than a week to conduct an investigation going back decades.

The committee initially said the FBI could conduct no more than 4 interviews, later upped to ten when swing state Republicans rightly complained that an unambiguously bogus investigation might not serve them well in the imminent elections. The FBI bears no blame for their farcical performance, but farcical it was.

We'll just let good old Joe have the final word on this.
