You’re no good, baby you’re no good - I’ve had generally good experiences returning stuff to Best Buy. John Hawkins has not: see his “Piece of Crap” list. I wholeheartedly agree with most everything else including the awful “Steel Magnolias.”

I'll agree about Best Buy's ludicrious return policy. Their own CEO even boasted about their two tier customer tracking system where they reward repeat and hassle free customer, and punishes the problematic ones (the one that returns a lot).

When it comes to returning items, Costco is one of the best. I buy item online, and if it's broke, return it to the nearest store.
