You don't hate the media enough

One of these guys was a Klansman and another killed a woman; the last one wasn't an "austere religious scholar" but he bought a snowball to the Senate.

Jim Inhofe was the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Environment. His top donors came from the energy industry, and they did not walk away unsatisfied.

Senator Inhofe compared the Environmental Protection Agency to the Gestapo. He compared the Panel on Climate Change to a Soviet show trial. He compared the environmental movement to the Nazis.

He said the Kyoto greenhouse gas treaty was a national security fiasco. He said that the global scientific consensus on climate change was "simply a false statement," and cited a Michael Crichton novel as counter-evidence.

He falsely claimed that more and more of the scientific community was attributing climate change to natural causes. The truth was the exact opposite. Inhofe said that the data behind climate change had been "debunked." The truth was the exact opposite.

When the scientific community declared that worldwide summer temperatures has risen to be higher than any time in 125 years, Inhofe said, "I don't think that anyone disagrees with the fact that we actually are in a cold period." When one fellates an oil rig without cease for three decades, one is apt to slips of the tongue.

Inhofe said that his expertise on the topic matched the researchers' knowledge, because he'd given "five speeches on the science." He said multiple times that mankind does not have the power to change God's climate, and it was "arrogance" to think otherwise. He published The Greatest Hoax: How the Global Warming Conspiracy Threatens Your Future. And on and on.

James Inhofe was the most prominent Do Nothing gaslighter in Congress for decades. The Senator was dismissing climate change before it was cool (back when Earth was notably cooler). He contributed to the world's ecological damage, some of which is irreparable.

Or, you know, "He brought a snowball to the Senate."

Kennedy killed one woman. Ultimately, James Inhofe will laugh at that incredibly paltry figure.
