"Always-wrong Harvard professor Laurence Tribe is the circle jerk's epicenter. One of his stupid opinions has been smacked down by the courts.

And now, won't you please welcome the infallible and undefeated Jonathan Turley!"

Of course this all makes sense. You have to remember that New York operates under different rules than the other 49 states. Is it even a state actually these days? It seems to have seceded from the United States of America as evidently its judges can ignore whatever parts of the Constitution and its Amendments whenever they want to. Heck, one of their judges told a defense lawyer ‘Do not bring the Second Amendment into this courtroom. It doesn’t exist here. So you can’t argue Second Amendment. This is New York.'

Federal courts have a unified system of rules. The 50 state courts do not. Apologies for springing this news on you with only 240 years notice.

Most states have their own court rules that apply state-wide. Below that, many county, district and municipal court judges have distinct “local rules” of court. You may have heard something about the practice of "court shopping" that Republican plaintiffs enjoy doing.

Unless you'd like to end the Constitutional concept of states' rights. Which New York would feel much better about than some other states we could mention....
