So it's not my modem

My Verizon DSL worked for all of one day and now I'm just getting the red light of non-connectivity. Tomorrow I'm calling for a cable modem.

Verizon and AT&T are working hard to get out of the copper business, including apparent intentional negligence of their DSL lines and equipment.

I (and my neighbors) had similar problems with Verizon DSL, but it was the article I linked above that kicked me over to cable. (In my ideal world, I would be on fibre, but I'll take what I can get.)
