Anyway, on a related note, the NY Times explains why Democrats like Olver are keeping away from the constituents they serve: "Democrats are skipping town halls to avoid voter rage." Let me know when you'll be around Congressman so I can say "hi."
Extra - Boston Globe: "Many in Mass. seek House seats." Call it the Scott Brown effect.

Your sentiments are shared by the majority of first district voters. However, there is hope of the horizon. We too asked John Olver when he would be scheduling a town hall meeting. He replied that he would only vote for the government health care option and that he was not going to meet with his constituents, stating that the district was too big to meet with everyone.
We found this unacceptable! So myself and two other people scheduled our own "Citizens Town Hall Meetings" from Sturbridge to Pittsfield. A total of seven different meetings with the people of the district was held despite the congressman's refusal to participate.
We listened to congressman Olver speak in condemnation of the Constitution and talk-down to concerned citizens. It all started to make sense when it came to our attention that Over was in fact an active socialist pursuing an aggressive campaign to spread American wealth and dissolve sovereign boundaries. Olver is doing this through his membership with the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA) and a group known as the "Progressive Caucus."
Now for the good news....one of the gentleman that organized the above mentioned "Citizen Town Hall Meetings" is William Gunn of Ware. People can get more information on him at www.billgunnforcongress.com

Olver has been in office for almost 20 years and he is out of touch with the people of his district. As with most "career politicians" in DC - they think they know what is best for us. They don't need to hear what we have to say - especially since we keep re-electing him.
Stop the insanity - vote NO incumbents in 2010!
Stand with honor,
I have written to John Olver twice. The first time, I never received a response. The second time, (one of his staffers I presume) responded that Rep. Olver only responded to those who lived in his district. I clearly indicated in my original correspondence that I lived in a town in his district.
I have heard from him once. A few weeks ago, I received a unsolicited snailmail (sent at taxpayers expense, no doubt) touting his "accomplishments." Hmmm, wonder if there is an election coming up, or something?
Wonder if people will have a real choice this time around.

I can't believe Representative Olver didn't show up to the meetings scheduled by three people. The nerve!
Olver, 2008: 73%
Olver, 2006: 76%
Olver, 2004: no opponent
Olver, 2002: 68%
Olver, 2000: 68%
Olver, 1998: 72%
Olver, 1996: 53%
Olver, 1994: no opponent
Olver, 1992: 54%
Good luck, fellas! With "the majority of first district voters" behind you, you can't fail!
I attened an event last October in North Adams where John Olver could not stay focused for more than a couple of minutes. It was quite disturbing to witness his poor performance and complete failure to stay on message. He is long overdue to withdraw from mis representing his constituents and to retire!
When he doesn't show up, he stinks! And when he does show up, he still stinks! It almost sounds as if some people's minds are made up on the subject.
Now the only thing those people need to do is double in number. When that happens, western Massachusetts' long and terrible nightmare will finally be over.
I too, about three years ago, attended a meeting where Olver's lights were on but no one was home. Ask a question and one received a slightly canned answer to a different question. Hmmm What's up.
I did some checking. In about 2005 Olver suffered a brain anurism. While still obviously brilliant, Olver is heavily supported by 22 staffers (the average is 15/congressman). Why is he not visiting his district, town meetings, or communicating with contestants? The Democratic machine does not want to loose thier reliable lapdog, which they will if the voters figure out that this once brilliant man is a shadow of his former self.
I am working in support of Bill Gunn here in Fitchburg. I just stumbled upon your website and felt like I wrote each and every post. I marched in the July 4 parade with Bill Gunn and his reception by the locals seemed sincere and warm. Last Saturday about 8 of us with Bill again did a stand-out outside the local mall. This weekend again we will are planning another standout at a major intersection in Fitchburg.
I just penned a letter to the editor of our local "Sentinel and Enterprise", I hope it makes the paper, again to introduce Bill and his name to the dissatisfied voters in northern Worcester County.
