Update - Everybody in Washington is waiting for the other guy to blink.

It would be a fantastic demonstration of change in Washington if Mitt Romney were to be offered the job of managing the bankruptcy proceedings of the automakers. He has the background and has proven his ability as a turnaround expert.

It would take great courage for the Democrats to do this. First and foremost it would require their having the guts to actually stand up to the automakers rather than just posturing. Secondly, Romney's success would make him the lock to be the GOP candidate for 2012. But it would be in the best interests of the country.
