DBrooks, You're right, "McCainBusHitler" (total Google hits: 0) would be sooooo childish. Why do the imaginary liberals in my head keep typing that? That nonexistent slur has none of the class and maturity of ManBearPig or Barack HUSSEIN Obamessiah or Hitlery Clinton.
In any event, AP/Ipsos's brand new August 5 poll shows Obama up by 6. Democrats in general are up by 20. Today, NBC *increased* its projection for Obama's electoral votes from July's estimate. (Isn't Obama supposed to be slipping?) The electoral map is still a blowout by anyone's count. And Fivethirtyeight.com gives the Dems more than a 20% chance of picking up eight (!) Senate seats.
Today, Election Projection says that IF the polls keep indicating a tightening race (which the AP poll sure doesn't), then, and only then, will McCain acquire a "fighting chance." Which he currently does not have.
No need for snark, DB. Reality is much more amusing.

Hi Eric,
DONE! :)
Scott
What? No snarky rebuttals from "Anonymous" or "McCainBusHitler?"
Unbelievably, incredibly, amazingly and right on time, democrats are once again poised to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
"What is it this time", you ask?
Drilling. And they've entrenched themselves on the wrong side of the fence.
This democratic election is being sacrificed on the alter of ecological correctness, and Nancy couldn't be happier.
Because she's saving the world, you know.
Wuz-a-dem
