Irrational Obama-mania

As Barack sews up the nomination tonight, it's worth reviewing something I've been saying for a while: how did a guy who just four years ago was reviewing zoning laws in Chicago now poised to become Leader of the Free World? Obama's been in the U.S. Senate for just four years and he's been running for president for two on a non-existent resume. Does anybody have any idea what he's done...or what he'll do? Here's Bill Bennett:

And thus the Democratic party is about to nominate a far left candidate in the tradition of George McGovern, albeit without McGovern's military and political record. The Democratic party is about to nominate a far-left candidate in the tradition of Michael Dukakis, albeit without Dukakis's executive experience as governor. The Democratic party is about to nominate a far left candidate in the tradition of John Kerry, albeit without Kerry's record of years of service in the Senate. The Democratic party is about to nominate an unvetted candidate in the tradition of Jimmy Carter, albeit without Jimmy Carter's religious integrity as he spoke about it in 1976. Questions about all these attributes (from foreign policy expertise to executive experience to senatorial experience to judgment about foreign leaders to the instructors he has had in his cultural values) surround Barack Obama. And the Democratic party has chosen him.
There's no there there.

Beyond belief. His cool composure, genteel etiquette, hard left politics and affirmative action are not enough to explain it. Have a good chunk of the Democrats grown so disenchanted with the real world of politics that they have now convinced themselves that extensive experience and significant accomplishments are not important or perhaps even a net negative? Even stranger: this is Obama's race to loose.

Irrational mania? Nah, just typical boilerplate bullsh*t from another GOP hack whimpering his way to the slaughter.

Anybody ever seen a Bill Bennett quote from 1972, 2004, or 1988 acknowledging the legitimacy of McGovern's record, or Kerry's, or Dukakis's? Or are their careers just easy rhetorical Mad Lib references for The Gambler to plug into the same rant he was always going to write?

It's so troubling that Obama doesn't have a record of accomplishment or integrity like the one G.W. Bush brought to the table in 1999. Thank God we have deep thinkers like Bill Bennett to explain the difference.

Seems to have missed the post WW2 democrat whose resume closely resembles Obama's: John F. Kennedy. Both ivy-league grad's, both did a stint in public service (JFK in the military, BHO in "community organizing"), both one term senators. Both have similar personal appeal: young, good-looking, accomplished public speakers. JFK was more charismatic, wittier and inspiring. But JFK's first term was marked by a number of mis-steps usually attributed to his inexperience. Wonder if the same will eventually be said of BHO?

This quote from Bennett hits the nail on the head! Let's pray that the Obamamania dies down long enough for folks to come to their senses and choose the adult in this contest! God bless! Padre Steve

Padre's been nipping at the sacramental wine again, hasn't he?
