I’m bemused by this post on the Democratic Party’s blog. It criticizes President Bush’s statement that “There is nothing complicated about supporting our troops in combat” with this weird rejoinder:
Now of course, there's a sense in which this is true, and that's what Bush was appealing to. It is a simple matter to be proud of our troops and to hope that no harm befalls them. Every American feels that way.Huh? Later, Halliburton is mentioned – ‘nuf said.
But delivering support to our troops in combat is a very complicated matter. The logistics of moving troops, getting them supplies, maintaining communications, and much more is mind-bogglingly complex.
