Kerry Vote Watch

Last week, I said: “Indicating that he has no intention of returning to Washington except for issues that affect his campaign, John Kerry voted just once last week.” This week, it’s déjà vu all over again. The Senate convened for four days last week and held 22 floor votes; Kerry voted exactly once on the Lieberman bill on climate change (we need green voters!) As a Massachusetts resident, what I find most annoying is that this vote was one of fourteen votes taken on Thursday 10/30. Senator AWOL was in Washington long enough to vote on the Lieberman bill, then promptly skipped town, ignoring the other 13 votes that day. I pay taxation – where’s my representation?

Days worked: 1 (more like 1/14th of a day)
Votes missed: 21
