The details are important: "individual or team contact sports with females" Swimming is both an individual and team sport and it isn't a contact sport. So what sports are actually affected by this squirmy wording? Seems to me that a male could swim against females in any of the swimming events other than relays. And what about non-relay events in track meets? The track team isn't a contact sport but the pole vault and many other parts are really individuals competing against other individuals.
There is a LOT of room for interpretation in their new rule!
I screwed up the previous comment. The first and last sentences are OK but I pretty much screwed up the rest f it. 🙄
My point is what sports are team contact sports? Football, soccer, baseball, basketball certainly stick out. But a relay race isn't. Is volleyball considered a contact sport? I just think the wording

Please allow editing of a comment. I keep digging deeper holes for myself.
The last sentence should have been I just think the wording allows for exceptions.
