The Republican Party hates Muslims, but must grudgingly accept Jews (for now, anyway) because evangelicals are dumb enough to believe the glorious End Times Armageddon will kick off in Israel.

The idea behind the Iran nuclear deal was to give Iran a stake in the Western system, and slowly ratchet down conflict through integration.
The anti-deal people got their way instead. And now Iran is more aggressive than ever and part of an anti-Western bloc with China and Russia.
