I'm not reflexively against government spending: it should be used for bridges, roads, and shiny new aircraft carriers. What it should not be used for is "life of Julia" dependence on the government, which is the basis for the bloated Build Back Better bill.
House moderates negotiated a vote on BBB in exchange for a score from the Congressional Budget Office. I suspect this will be the fig leaf they need to tank the whole bill since it will most assuredly show spending levels much higher and tax revenues much lower than advertised.
So we had a three-month delay on passing the bipartisan infrastructure bill and the Squad ended up with nothing to show for that silly dilatory tactic.
