The poll contacted 700 extension educators, a third of whom responded. Half of them said climate change is being caused by humans.
The poll also contacted 6,400 agricultural advisers, a fourth of whom responded. Half of them said climate change is being caused by humans.
The poll also contacted 19,000 farmers, one-fourth of whom responded. 41% of them said climate change is being caused by humans.
The poll also contacted 200 "cross-disciplinary" scientists, 77% of whom responded. 85% of them said climate change is being caused by humans.
What about actual climatologists? The poll also contacted 19 of them, all of whom responded. 90% of them said climate change is being caused by humans.
It’s a shame those 19 of 6,795 responses couldn’t pull more weight in the poll’s findings.
The Washington Examiner quotes MRC Business' impartial interpretation of the data: "Contrary to the repeated insistence of both climate alarmists and the media, scientists do not all agree on the standard climate alarmism talking points."
Whereas the Purdue survey itself says, "The survey results highlight the division between scientists and farmers over climate change and the challenges in communicating climate data and trends in non-polarizing ways... Scientists and climatologists are saying climate change is happening, and agricultural commodity groups and farmers are saying they don't believe that. Our research suggests that this disparity in beliefs may cause agricultural stakeholders to respond to climate information very differently."
