Quote of the day - From black (!) New York Times (!) columnist Bob Herbert: "But Senator Obama is not just tacking gently toward the center. He's lurching right when it suits him, and he's zigging with the kind of reckless abandon that's guaranteed to cause disillusion, if not whiplash." Bonus for using the rarely-heard gerund "zigging"!

It's not a real stretch of the imagination that if Sen. Obama stood up and said he is a follower of Milton Freidman and Adam Smith that his starry-eyed supporters might have a momentary hiccup. But the would simply see the move as a way to power much as Lenin and then Stalin using the "temporary' expedient of the Cheka and its descendents during the emergency state of the Revolution. Which of course lasted more than seven decades.

I hope Obama's health plan includes psychiatric care for Republicans...

Given that it's not totally certain that Obama will win (although if I had to bet that's the way I'd bet today), I hope the Democrats have stocked up on anti-depressants and the drugs of their choice. Probably should be at least a four year supply on hand.

Awesome comeback. Dave's "I'm rubber you're glue fu" skills are formidable.
