#5 should be #1 – From Blender: “The 50 worst artists in music history” The list is pretty good if only because there isn’t one on there I would say: “No way!” I might have added Rod Stewart post-1980.
Many (most) of the artists on the list had big commercial success at some point. IMO, that automatically removes you from any "worst artist" list. Otherwise, you're engaging in pure snobbery.
Now "most bland", "most commercially successful band that I hate", etc. would be more on target. Truly bad artists don't get recording contracts, let alone hit records.
But yes, I know... it's fun throwing spit bombs at "other people's" idea of good music.
