So don't take it! Write a check to the US Treasury. Nobody is stopping you! This is so much moral vanity and humblebragging.
You're absolutely right! If they don't like the tax cut, they should just write a check to the IRS and put a note on it and in with it saying that the money should go directly to paying down the debt! If they don't do that, they are hypocrites!
